I love this soft and romantic color palette with its delicate grays, soft pinks and aquas… Quite simply chic… Would you consider it for your wedding day?

Real Wedding: Aqua & Pink Whimsy

I’m so in love with this adorable pink and aqua wedding photographed by Beaux Arts Photographie.

For the ceremony, the bride made a backdrop of floaty pink and aqua fabric, that swayed in the breeze…

The bride’s bouquet was made up of garden roses, peonies and hydranga. For a keepsake of the day, a clock engraved with the couple’s wedding day was carried by the groom.

Brass bells were hung on aqua board for guests to ring after the couple’s kiss.

Pink and gold tea cups make a pretty vignette and aqua striped wine bottles are given as bridesmaid’s gifts…

The bridesmaids wore flowly pink chiffon dresses with greek sandals, hitting the perfect relaxed garden vibe…

Seating cards on lines of twine and elegant calligraphy is used for signs…

Pink dahlias, delicious flatbread, champagne, and a gorgeous pink cake all make for a relaxed and beautiful wedding reception…

Neon seems to be popping up every where.. I love the idea of a wedding design with touches of neon that is still really, really, elegant (it would be such a fun design challenge).

How rad would a neon wall be for a ceremony backdrop? SO RAD.

For the Tea Tme Editorial, 33 Jewels kindly lent us a number of vintage costume jewelry and we just had to take a bunch of detailed styling shoots with them. Above the detail of a choker…

The incredible purple Miriam Haskell necklace…

Here it is styled with Tricia’s tray and a cigarette case I bought at a thrift store.

I loved these elegant gold and white studs… You can find similar pieces at 33 Jewels.

Making of a Vibrant Wedding Bouquet

Kelly
October 13

I love making bouquets… there’s just something so fun about making the bride’s most important accessory on her wedding day. I personally, love bouquets full of color and texture. For the the Vibrant Winery Wedding I used orange lollipop dahlias, pink garden roses, scabiosa pods (love them), sweet veronica, and pink garden roses.

What kind of flowers would you carry on your wedding day?

Real Wedding: Vibrant Winery Wedding

I love  a wedding full of vibrant color, and this wedding I designed last year had one of my favorite color combos: turquoise, orange, and hot pink. For her bouquet, I used pink garden roses, orange dahlias, sweet veronica, scabiosa pods and maidenhair fern and then wrapped the stems with a deep turquoise silk.

Their ceremony was held under the oak tree at Gainey Vineyards. The bride had a thing for hearts (she actually wore a heart shaped necklace on her wedding day) so I created a big heart out of orange rose petals.

I used the couple’s bird and heart logo on their seating card chart (I actually printed a large copy of it and then used an exacto knife to make a stencil out of it). A collection of vintage fans were placed in wood boxes filled with more orange rose petals.

For her tabletop design, I used a burlap runner as the base to pop the colorful flowers off of. A mix of hammered containers, petite mason jars and aqua glasses from Anthropologie held an assortment of garden roses, cafe au lait dahlias, orange lollipop dahlias, orange roses, tuberrose, geranium, and a bit amaranthus. I bought a bunch of old books and tied with them with more turquiose silk, sort of like old book satchels. At each place setting I hand braided torn silk strips to use as a napkin ring. I also switched out the usually white plates for orange ones to add even more color. I love the vibrant, playful look! You can see more of this wedding over on Style Me Pretty, right here.

London Calling

Kelly
August 24

Tomorrow I’m heading out to London to design and attend my little sister’s wedding. I’m SUPER excited to go antiquing & prop hunting, not to mention visiting the always inspiring Fortnum & Mason, my beloved Cambridge where I studied abroad, drinking loads of cream tea and eating bags of Walker’s salt & vinegar chips. Posting will be light while I’m away, but I will have a full re-cap of my adventures when I return. Until then, cheers mate!
