Sometimes simple is best.
Wedding Editorial: Equestrian Elegance
April 09
This wedding editorial was designed by Ariel Yve and inspired by Ralph Lauren. Naturally a polo field made for the perfect backdrop (this is the same location that the royals played not to long ago).
For the tabletop design, rustic burlap was made feminine with an overlay of alencon lace from La Tavola Linen. To further play with texture, leather cord was used on the elegant paper invitations by Zenedia Designs.
For the wedding fashion, an elegant Ines de Santo dress was styled with a low chignon and Stella & Dot Jewelry.
For a bit of whimsy one cake display was set on a swing, while the other was placed on an elegant buffet with blue horse ribbons. Blue was also brought into the tabletop design with classic blue and white china. Thank you Ariel for sharing this inspiration and Michael & Anna Costa for the beautiful photos!

Adorable yellow peep toes with plaid details? They’re quite simply perfection! Photo by Beaux Arts of my Seychelles shot in Cambridge.
Color Palatte: Aqua + Yellow + White
March 29
I’m a big fan of aqua, and paired with yellow and white, the color combination is so perfect for spring. I could see daffodils and ranunculus in the centerpieces and containers of aqua colored glass. Would you consider this happy palette for a wedding or home design?
Real Wedding: Santa Barbara Style at San Ysidro Ranch
March 26
This small and intimate wedding held at San Ysidro Ranch is the epitome of Santa Barbara elegance.
The relaxed groom, wears a suit without a tie, but with a thoughtful detail embroidered in his suit — the couples’ initials and their wedding location.
The ceremony was held in front of the outdoor fireplace at the ranch and decorated simply with candles.
Petite wrought iron chandeliers were hung in the trees to add a bit of sparkle.
Afterwards, the couple took photos on the spectacular grounds of San Ysidro… The field of lavender, fuschia bougainvillea, all make for a stunning backdrop for the photographers, Michael & Anna Costa.
Delicious bites, champagne for toasting, and stunning flowers, by Camilla Svensson Burns complete the affair, all planned by the always lovely, Jill LaFleur.
Color Palatte: Blue & Yellow
March 22
I love this fresh summertime color scheme- shades of ocean blue with pops of yellow and white. The combination feels slightly preppy, I could see a striped white and blue runner with yellow flowers. Would you consider this summer fresh color combo?
Escape to…French Mornings
March 07
I keep day dreaming of escaping to a little spot in the French countryside, and perhaps staying in an old castle.
Or a manor home surrounded by vines…
The rooms would have fabulous fire places and cozy day beds for reading…
And a garden terrace, perfect for flower arranging and al fresco dining…
Bridal Style: Relaxed Elegance
March 06
I love this bride, Amanda’s, wedding day style…. Awesome shoes with a classic but slightly casual wedding gown, what could be better for a winery wedding?
Amanda wore her family heirlooms for jewelry, her great grandmother’s crystal bracelet and earrings. To incorporate something from her parent’s wedding, lace from her mother’s dress was wrapped around her bouquet. To complete the look, a simple bird cage veil added a vintage touch.
More Prettiness from the Rue Editorial
March 01
Calling any of Jose Villa’s photos outtakes seems sort of ridiculous, but here they are, more goodies from the Rue shoot. Above, Santa Barbara at sunset…
For the first setup of the day, I had a few adriondecks brought in from Found, pillows from Yeah Rentals and I brought a funky wicker side table and put my big brass swan filled with wax flowers on top of it.
For flowers, I wanted it to be very loose and very spring… I used lilac, tulips, ranunculus and jasmine vine. The basket was a thrift store find (love the aqua and blue pattern) and the main table’s container was from Anthropologie. Plates, flatware and glassware available for rental for the amazing Casa de Perrin.
After shooting the table and one look on the docks, we moved to the boat…
This dress didn’t make it into the magazine, but I’m obsessed with it! Its Rachel Zoe and the dress moves so pretty in the wind… I accessorized with a few chunky gold necklaces and a gold hammered cuff. Big thank you again to all who helped contribute!
Bridal Style: Pride & Prejudice Inspired
February 28
I love, love this pensive picture of my sweet bride Elizabeth, in her gorgeous Claire Pettibone gown, looking at the sea from Rancho Dos Pueblos.
The intricate beading, empire waist, and the delicate cap sleeves made Elizabeth feel like she’d just stepped out of the pages of Pride & Prejudice…
For a splash of color, and her something blue, Elizabeth picked these blue shoes by Poetic License. Her bracelet was her something borrowed and her earring were her something new (vintage baubles from 33 Jewels). To see the rest of Elizabeth’s wedding check out the Style Me Pretty magazine!
