I have recently visited two new locations avaliable for weddings and private events. The first is Sycamore Estate, a vacation rental that allows wedding for up to 150 guests. The home has a very rustic, shabby chic kind of feel to it. Receptions take place in the backyard.

The home has three bedrooms and is avaliable for overnight accomodations (with kids it can sleep up to 11). Some notes: guests would need to be shuttled in, a kitchen would need to be setup in the garage, all tables/chairs/lighting would need to be brought in.

Vasquez Ranch is located in Gaviota and is very rustic, beautiful and private. The ceremony area is an oak grove (above) and the reception site is huge grassy lawn nestled in between two hills. The location can hold up to 300 guests and is $7450 to rent. This location is 100% raw, power, bathrooms, the catering kitchen, and all rentals will need to be brought in. Valet and a shuttle are also required since the ceremony and reception sites are at two different locations.

Called the “Jewel of the Gaviota Coast,” Arroyo Hondo is a beautiful nature preserve, with limited events held each year. There are several locations to choose from for the reception and ceremony site, from the rustic barn area to the sweeping meadow which is a short car ride away.

The verdant meadow is on a slight incline and has a breath taking view of the mountains.

Overall, the location is absolutely stunning and shows the visitor what Santa Barbara must have looked like 100 years ago. For the adventurous, out-doorsy couple who loves nature this location would be a great choice.
Some notes:
- Holds less than 8 weddings a year.
- Music can go until 12am.
- Candles can be used if they are in glass containers & are not placed on the ground.
- Everything would need to be brought in, including a kitchen, lights, tables, chairs, linens, etc.
- Shuttles would need to brought in for transport throughout the location.
- Renting bathrooms is recommended; a few porta potties are available.
- A generator is recommended as electricity is limited.
- Bridal dressing area is available in a historic cabin built in the late 19th century.

Located in the hills behind Ventura, Wiggy Ranch is a hidden location that offers rustic charm and no curfew for music. The ceremony area is a verdant lawn with impressive trees and a small pond.

The reception site is a large grassy lawn (it could easily hold up to 300) on top of a hill.

Wiggy Ranch holds only 8-10 events a year, so any event here is truly exclusive. A working avocado ranch most of the year (avocados could be a fun favor for guests), the owners are nice people who love to accommodate couples on their special day
Some notes:
- All rentals will need to be brought in, including kitchen, bathrooms, tables, chairs, etc.
- Valet and shuttles are required to get from the ceremony location to the reception location.
- Heels are not recommended.
- Great venue for large guest counts.

Twin Peaks Ranch is a gorgeous, relatively new location out in Ojai. To get to the ranch you drive through downtown Ojai and past the Sunkist orchards. The ranch is a private home and hosts only 8 wedding a year.
It has areas for both ceremonies, cocktail hour and the reception. The ceremony area is called “Cathedral Oaks,” because the oak trees bend overhead creating this natural, ceiling that is just magical.

The cocktail area is between the ceremony and reception location and has a stunning view of the Ojai valley.

The reception area has the same view of the Ojai Valley and features a pool and fireplace which make a perfect lounge area.

Some notes:
- The reception area can hold up to 200, but 150 is recommended for the site.
- Valet and shuttles are required for guest parking,
- All rentals would need to be brought in, including bathrooms, kitchen and some additional lighting.
- Dressing areas for both the bride & groom are available.

About 15 miles north of Santa Barbara is a private ranch called Orella. It has been owned by the same family for the last 8 generations and it is truly a gorgeous, rustic location. Ceremonies take place at either Sky Island or the Lone Oak.

Sky Island has a breathtaking view of the Channel Islands and 360 degree views of the mountains.

Receptions are held down the hill at The Oaks which has views of the mountains and ocean and features a 300 year old Oak tree.

To the right of the tree is another ocean view.

Some notes:
- Since this is private property events can go to all hours.
- No candles or open flames allowed.
- High heels are not recommended.
- String lights and bathrooms are included in the rental price.
- All other rentals would need to be brought in.
For more information visit the location’s website.

Yesterday I visited a very remote location up in mountains of Los Padres National Forest called Figueroa Mountain Farmhouse and it is absolutely stunning. A collection of three cabins from the 18th century (imported from the east coast) the rustic beauty is truly one of a kind.
